Microbial Growth Problems
For those of us in the “Water Restoration” industry, we rarely use the words “Mold” because it just doesn’t sound professional. Quite often, “Mold” is often confused with “Microbial Growth” because of media enhanced fears such as “Black Mold”.
Microbial Growth occurs almost immediately with Water Damaged Situations due to the combined presence of moisture and dirt. Temperature can accelerate the rate of growth of “Microbial Growth” and this is often confused as Mold. The majority of water damaged jobs are treated within the first 48-72 hours and end with absolutely no mold in the building. This should emphesize how important that it is to provide prompt attention to any water damaged areas to minimize further damage to your property.
Please remember, left untreated, “Mold” will almost certainly occur; however, immediate proper treatment of the damaged areas will result in no mold growth.
